About FWBL

The Florida Winter Baseball League (FWBL) caters to the Independent Professional Baseball market. The League capitalizes on Florida’s unique subtropic weather to offer Winter Baseball in one of the great American destinations, South Florida – baseball heaven. The FWBL launched the 2015 Season in the Fall of 2015 with four teams. The League operates out of the Pompano Beach Baseball Complex in Pompano Beach, FL.

NEXT SEASON:  Plan for the next season is under way.  Next season will be in 2017 in the months of January and February.  The season features a 20 game schedule.  The season will run from January 20 – February 21 plus the up to 4 playoff games.

During 2016, the league will run several baseball camps and at each camp players will have the opportunity to earn a contract with the League.  In addition to the camps, the league will hold various tryouts closer to the season.

2015 INFORMATION:   Opening Day for the 2015 Season was October 16, 2015.  For the first season, the League ran a 16 game winter schedule culminating with a semi-finals game (Challenger Series) and a best-of-three League Championship Series at the end of the season. The Miami-Dade Red Snappers won the inaugural championship, taking the series (2-0) against the Collier County Loggerheads.
