About FWBL

The Florida Winter Baseball League (FWBL) caters to the Independent Professional Baseball market. The League capitalizes on Florida’s unique subtropic weather to offer Winter Baseball in one of the great American destinations, South Florida – baseball heaven. The FWBL launched the 2015 Season in the Fall of 2015 with four teams. The League operates out of the Pompano Beach Baseball Complex in Pompano Beach, FL.

Opening Day for the 2015 Season was October 16, 2015.  For the first year, the League will run a 24 game winter schedule culminating with a semi-finals game and a best-of-three League Championship Series at the end of the season. The winning team earns a $2,000 cash prize along with a championship trophy. The MVP Award, as well as the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, will be presented during Game 1 of the League Championship Series. Baseball scouts from various organizations will be following the players and teams. 

Formal FWBL Tryouts will take place on September 19, 2015, October 4, 2015 and October 14, 2015. The FWBL Pro Camp runs from October 11 – October 14, 2015.
